Experience and areas of specialisation

Peter formed Grope Hamilton Lawyers with Mark Hamilton in 1983 as a small boutique commercial law firm. After merging with Johnsons Lawyers in 1987 and Finlaysons in 1990, Peter and Mark re-established Grope Hamilton Lawyers in 1991.

Since being admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court in 1976 Peter has specialised in business law with an emphasis on negotiating, documenting and completing transactional matters from company and business acquisitions and disposals, to shopping centre developments, acquisitions and disposals.

Apart from transactional matters, Peter is also involved in providing business law advice in the commercial area and acting in estate and succession planning matters.

Personal interests

In his spare time, Peter mixes sport with recreation. A keen tennis player, snow skier and walker, he also indulges his passion for traveling when he’s not renovating his National Trust-listed home. Peter also enjoys dabbling in investments, hotel and commercial development and collecting Australiana.
